2021
Derek Lundberg named one of 27 Wallenberg Academy Fellows in 2021. This starting grant from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation comes with 5 years of salary and research support (https://kaw.wallenberg.org/en/derek-lundberg). Grant 2021.0102, "Revealing the secrets to success of Sphingomonas, a versatile bacterial genus with exceptional potential as a beneficial agricultural inoculant". Derek was also awarded (but declined both due to project overlap) a Novo Nordisk Emerging Investigator grant in Plant Science, Agriculture, and Food Biotechnology (https://researchleaderprogramme.com/recipients/derek-lundberg/) and an ERC Starting Grant.
